720i

720i is a video resolution with 1280 × 720 pixels, where the “i” stands for interlaced. In interlaced video, the screen shows half the picture (odd lines), then quickly shows the other half (even lines), creating one full image.

While it saves bandwidth, 720i can look less smooth than 720p, especially during fast sports or action scenes.

In Kenya, most modern TVs and broadcasters avoid 720i in favor of progressive formats like 720p or 1080p, which give a cleaner image.
