HEVC

HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) and VP9 are modern video compression formats. They make large video files smaller without losing quality.

Most 4K and 8K content uses HEVC or VP9 because older formats like H.264 would require too much data. A Smart TV with HEVC/VP9 decoding can stream YouTube 4K, Netflix, or local DVB-T2 broadcasts smoothly.

For example, without HEVC/VP9 support, a TV might struggle to play 4K YouTube videos or high-quality satellite channels in Kenya.
