Film Cadence

Film Cadence refers to the rhythm or pattern of frames when movies shot at 24 frames per second (fps) are converted for TV display.

If the TV detects the cadence correctly, it plays movies smoothly without judder (stuttery motion). Poor cadence detection makes slow camera pans look choppy.

For example, when watching a Hollywood film on a Smart TV, Film Cadence ensures it looks like the cinema version, not a shaky stream.
